Valorization of urban bio-waste by vermicomposting

Publié le 16/03/2021

Valorization of urban bio-waste by vermicomposting on soils conducted in organic farming:

an agro-ecological practice to preserve soil biodiversity?

The objective of this work is to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate the effect of different amendments from urban bio-waste (vermicompost, compost and digestate) on soil fertility, soil biodiversity and organic farming yield.

To meet this objective, two main axes are defined:

  • the study of quality of different organic amendments (compost, digestate and vermicompost) from bio-waste in the laboratory (axis 1)
  • and the study of these amendments applied in the field on soil fertility and biodiversity (axis 2).

The work in the field will also make it possible to compare the effects of the different amendments on the quantity and quality of agricultural biomass production.
