Professor and researcher
My research is grounded in systems agronomy and aims to support the design of resilient, low-input cropping systems that enhance the socio-ecological sustainability of agrifood systems. Through a strongly interdisciplinary approach, I have focused particularly on the role and use of “subaltern” plants within farming systems (marginal or secondary crops, cover crops, service plants, etc.) as drivers of socio-biodiversity, agronomic innovation. Building on this work I am exploring how agronomy can engage with a new form of “wildness”, whether desired or imposed, within agroecosystems.
